Today marks a major win for transparency, as the Hon. Maryka Groenewald MLC, Leader of the Australian Christians Party, confirmed that the Government has finally released the full Standards of Care for treating minors with gender dysphoria—after months of resistance and repeated refusals.
“This is a significant victory for accountability and transparency,” said Maryka Groenewald MLC,
“For years I have been advocating for transparency, and for the last four months, I have been asking the Government for the documents that constitute the Child and Adolescent Gender Diversity Service model of care,
“Until now, I was met with silence at every turn,
“Due to this lack of transparency, I gave notice that I’d be moving a Motion on Notice to compel the release of these documents,
“In response, the Government attempted to placate me by promising to give me the documents, but instead, they gave me a two-page summary and a flowchart,
“We made it clear that this standard of disclosure would not stand, and that I would proceed with my Motion to compel the full release of these documents,
“Today, to their credit, the Government has finally provided the WA’s complete Standards of Care,
“This is a win for the public’s right to know what is being done to children in the name of healthcare,

“My office will now review these guidelines in detail and consult with medical and clinical experts to assess their contents,
“We will provide the public with an informed update very soon,
“However, as part of our initial review, there are already causes for concern,
“The standards have not been updated since 2021, the sourcing is extremely basic, there are no specific listed medications, and there seem to be contradictions between the standards of care and the two-page summary originally provided,
“I want to thank everyone who has supported this fight for transparency, especially the parents and concerned citizens who demanded answers,
“This is just the beginning. We will continue to pursue truth and accountability in how vulnerable children are treated under government oversight,” Groenewald concluded.
